Kirsten Calahoo
I am an indigenous Artisan from the Maskekosihk Cree Nation. I like to make Wearable Art in the form of hand-painted rawhide Regalia and different beaded accessories.
When I started my artistic journey in 2017, I met gatekeepers and people who belittled my work; however, I didn’t let them discourage me, and I continued to do what I loved. Several years later, I hope to share knowledge and inspire other young artists not to give up or get discouraged by negativity. If you genuinely love art, you will create it no matter what! Today, my art allows me to make custom orders, do workshops, and attend Artisan Markets hosted by Enoch Tourism.
Valentine Calahoo-Morin
Hello, my name is Valentine Calahoo-Morin. I’m an artist from Enoch Cree Nation and I work with multiple different art forms, I know how to bead, and I love to paint and draw. I’ve always loved art and enjoyed how it was a creativity outlet and how much emotion and love goes into it.
Currently my favourite thing to do is “negative space” art. I will always try different things and art forms; I love to be creative and encourage others to do the same.

Peyakoskan
Peyakoskan is an indigenous owned company that produces Indigenous based apparel and designs.
We started with the idea to produce lines of clothing and sweaters that help promote and represent the Indigenous culture and ideologies of our nations. We hope that our designs and creations add to the growing awareness of Indigenous peoples in North America. That our identities and traditions be worn with pride and start conversations about the meaning behind our clothing lines.
Peyakoskan means my family.. and for us the idea of the name was meant to encompass all my family and that we are all related through nationhood and a collective identity of indigenous heritage.
Family Creations
Tânsi, I am Tammy Ward, my Ninâpem Gordon Ward, my Daughter and youngest Son are the self taught creator’s of these works and we are Family Creations.
We create Key Chains, Necklaces, Chokers, Earrings, Bracelets, Breastplates and now learning how to make Leather Belts. We work with various Bones, Hides, Horse Hair mixed in with Wooden, Glass, Metal, Crystal and Swarovski Beads. We enjoy sharing the lessons we learned from our various creations and teach our extended relations to make a custom piece for themselves.
As a family we continue to attend markets and meet other creators and works. We have the hope to one day teach many others on how to start their own journey of Beading.
Rhay-Lyn Arcand
Tansi, my name is Rhay-Lyn Arcand. I'm an indigenous artisan who dabbles in various mediums. Traditionally, I ventured down the road of painting on canvas and sketching designs. Lately however, my medium of choice has been beading.
I use art to help me on my healing journey, since I've unfortunately been in and out of the hospital. Left to deal with a chronic illness that leaves me bedridden most days. So when I discovered beading, it quickly became my outlet to bypass the time, as well as to keep my mind and spirit at ease. ♡
Patsy Arcand
Tanisi... I am Patsy Arcand from Enoch Cree nation. I have used my art as a stepping stone in my healing journey 12 years ago. Discovering beading and sewing has helped me become more connected to my ancestors.
Marion Bird
My name is Marion Bird. I’m from Enoch, Alberta, and I have two kids for whom I will learn to do anything. I started my sewing journey when I was 14, but I found my own style when I was 20. My kids are my biggest influences. I learned how to do powwow regalia for my daughter, and I am currently learning how to do feather work for my son. They’re my inspiration and motivation to create the things I do.
